Simple eg: The house is red.

Combining eg: John is short and smart

Serial Comma eg: Mother went to the store and bought apples, oranges, milk, and eggs.

Quotations eg: Sue asked politely, "Are you there?"

Interrupter eg: Henry, winner of the spelling bee, was a very interesting person.

Sensory eg: The thunder clapped in the night.
eg: The garbage smelled like rotten eggs.

Narrative Story Writing Format

Paragraph 1: Setting
What does it look like?

What does it feel like? Mood?

Is there going to be any foreshadowing

Paragraph 2: Character
Who is the main character?

What do they look like?

What is there personality?

What is the main problem in your story?

Solutions (3)
How is the problem going to be solved?
Think of at least three attempts to solve the problem.

How is your story going to end?

Be sure to include a lot of variety in your sentence types and vocabulary.

1. Headline- short, bold, attention grabbing.
2. Byline- author of the article and newspaper or location.

3. Intro Paragraph- short paragraph that answers the Who, What, Where, Why, When, and How?
4. Body Paragraphs- go into detail with the 5 W’s and 1 H.

5. Ending Paragraph- short summary.
